Me, Myselfie, and I

Has anyone ever found out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop? Or how many pictures it takes to get the perfect selfie? I’d say about the same number.

You know your day is going to be one of the most stressful days ahead of you when you realize you have not posted an Instagram selfie in a while, or you need a new Facebook profile picture. Selfie’s take dedication, hard work, and endurance. In order to steer clear of the stress selfie’s lead here are some helpful tips.

In order to make your eyes look bigger and your cheekbones more defined tilt your head at an angle. This will highlight your natural born features. When tilting your head, make sure it is nothing too dramatic, a slight tilt or turn to the right or left works (which ever is your better side). Be sure to express your self. Avoid the fake smile and change up your expression in your pictures. You also never want to smirk in your selfies it is unflattering. Smiling with no teeth is meant to model off your lipstick, make a silly face with a silly caption, or when in doubt do a duck face.

You need the perfect lighting for the perfect selfie. To make you skin glow or blend the blemishes stand near a window. You want to face the window, never have the window behind you. Fluorescent lights are your enemy.A helpful trick is hold a white napkin or paper towel near your face to neutralize the flash. “Chin up camera down” as Kim Kardashian says. Hold the camera above your head. The background is key. Pose with something new and have a change of scenery. People always analyze whats behind you… close the toilet seat, or pick up the undergarments on your floor.

Sometimes the lighting is never meant to be, or you need longer arms because you just spent $50 on your shirt and it needs to be in your selfie. No need to fear they have products to help. The selfie stick is a must! They carry a variety of colors, of course I have a pink one! The price is reasonable any where from $10 to $20. Its simple attach your phone and connect to blue tooth and begin clicking away. They travel easy…just don’t forget to charge it. The newest hottest product is the lumee phone case. They are a selfie game changer. They are on the pricy side but useful when the lighting is lacking. They a bit bulky and not meant for an every day case, so it can be a hassle to take it on and off for selfies.

I will defiantly keep the mirror selfie idea in mind. I agree they are so cute, but can be a hassle because you find all the dirt on your mirror and have to clean the counter top… the struggle! lol
