Glowing Skin is Always in!

Since face masks are such a hot trend right now, and since us college students are balling on a budget. You can create a DIY face mask without spending a ton of money. You can find hundreds of different recipes for face masks through out the internet using everyday household products. This is one of my favorite homemade face masks, it is a deep cleansing all organic face mask. I have a huge mixture of it because I gave it as a Christmas gift to everyone in my family.

You will need:

  • bentonite clay ( 1 tsp.)
  • honey or water (1 tsp.)
  • herbs & essential oils of your choice (1/2 tsp. & 2 drops)

(I chose to make the powdered mix in bulk that way every time I use it I can take out the correct portion and just add either water or honey, so I quadrupled the recipe!)

I used chamomile flowers and calendula flowers and had to blend them until they became a fine powder just as the clay.

You then mix the 1tsp of the clay and  1tsp. of the herbs of your choice in a small bowl. You can either add honey or water. If you choose to add honey the paste will be a lot thicker and also adds a smooth silky texture to the mask. If you add water the mask will be a lot thinner and you will really feel the  clumps and grains of the mask. When adding either honey or water you want to mix it with equal portions of the powder mix so 1 or 2 tsp.

You then apply the mask evenly though out your face and let it dry for roughly a half hour or so. One it drys it will be hard and turned to a white color. The mask will also start to crackle. When taking off the mask you can rinse your face with warm water under the sink or use a warm face cloth. Once you remove the mask you want to pat skin dry and enjoy your healthy clean, smooth and clear skin! 🙂
